We are meticulous and highly selective in our investment screening process, with an intense focus on risk identification, analysis and assessment.

Ethemba Capital has a proven track record of developing and executing innovative deal structures for transactions which require an understanding of different cultures and of the complexities of emerging market legal systems and local market conditions.

The funds advised by Ethemba Capital seek to take majority or significant minority stakes in the companies in which they invest. Key elements of the investment approach of Ethemba Capital funds are:

• We expect to work with the management of investee companies for several years to achieve our shared objectives
• We place significant emphasis on building strong relationships with the owners and key managers of investee companies – we do not to trade in and out of companies for short-term gain
• We participate actively on the boards of all investee companies to provide a clear and focused shareholder base that enables management to get on with the job of building the company
• We seek to ensure management is highly incentivised to deliver operational speed, reduced levels of bureaucracy and enhanced performance and we assist companies with recruitment to senior positions to ensure that management is always of the highest calibre
• Where appropriate, we leverage our relationships and networks to secure strategic partnerships for the company with suitable multinational and regional groups
• We help plan and arrange both acquisitions and disposals and prepare companies for disposal or for public market entry
